Welcome to the FAQ here at Cprogramming.com.

As of January 2003, the FAQ has been under the control of me, Hammer, moderator over on the forums. I have re-used some of the material from LightAtDawn's old FAQ, and have added some more of my own. I hope to be able to keep it all up to date, and add more as time goes by. If you're interested in writing something for the FAQ, then find out how to contact me.

This FAQ was originally designed to cover the most frequently asked questions on the C/C++ boards on this site. The questions are seen quite regularly and we hope to help out a large group of people all at once. This gives regulars more time to answer questions since they dont have to answer the same ones over and over again! (this gets boring really fast). I am now trying to extend the FAQ into something more than a simple Q&A list by providing more complete answers, with sample code where possible. There are also some articles that other people have kindly contributed, which I hope you will find interesting.

Try to read all of the entries in the FAQ, you'll hopefully learn something new! Quite often, people post their question in the forum first, and end up being directed to the FAQ... if only they'd come here first...

Various people have provided input into this site, there's a separate page thanking everyone. If your name isn't on the list, and you think it should be, feel free to contact me, and I'll take a look.

Lastly, if you're using the forums, make sure you read the netiquette section in the FAQ. This will teach you how to obtain the best results from your posts, and keep everyone happy.
